
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic system of healthcare that has evolved over thousands of years. It is grounded in classical theories such as Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, and the meridian system, and focuses on understanding health as a dynamic balance within the body and between the individual and their environment. It is compromised of a number of key components:
Acupuncture
Is the insertion of fine needles into specific locations on the body It is used to treat a wide variety of conditions such as pain, trauma and injury through to emotional and hormonal in balances.
Chinese Herbs
are derived from a wide variety of sources from plant, mineral and animal matter. Chinese Herbs are often extremely effective for many common and rare health complaints. Chinese Herbs can be used in conjunction or independently from acupuncture and the other modalities within TCM
Tuina
is Therapeutic Chinese massage that incorporates the through TCM diagnostic model and applies this to certain massage techniques to treat and relieve the patients complaints. Often the patient will leave feeling relaxed and energised after a tuina treatment.

New Zealand Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Society (NZCMAS) has been providing service to the Chinese medicine and acupuncture community since (1988). We are a democratically elected professional body that represents our members and industry in our local community and internationally.
You must hold a recognised qualification in Chinese Medicine or a related discipline (e.g., Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Tuina, or Integrative Chinese Medicine) and have completed formal clinical training.
You must be currently enrolled in a recognised Chinese Medicine or related programme, such as:
